Astelin (Azelastine) is for seasonal allergies in grownups and children who are at minimum two years old, and for year-round allergic reactions in grownups and kids as young as 6 months old. This medication is safe and well tolerated in both grownups and children with allergic rhinitis. As with any other medicine it may trigger side effects. Most typical negative effects are a bitter taste in the mouth, drowsiness, a burning feeling inside the nose, nose bleeds, sneezing fits, cough, runny nose, nausea, muscle aches, dry mouth, headache, weight gain, or red eyes. If any of these effects last or worsen, tell your physician or pharmacist promptly.
